MY STORY - Photography
My interest in photography began in eighth grade, when I bought my first camera, a Sony A6700. That introduction sparked my curiosity for visual storytelling and technical image-making. After that camera was stolen, I continued shooting with a Nikon D7000, which, despite being a step down technologically, reinforced the importance of mastering fundamentals over relying on equipment.
After a break from photography, my passion was reignited just before college, leading me to invest in a Sony A7 IV. This upgrade pushed both my creative and technical growth, especially in post-processing—a challenging but rewarding process as someone who is colorblind. It forced me to develop a more intentional workflow focused on light, contrast, and consistency.
After several months of dedicated practice, I began taking on professional work, including graduation portraits, social media content for a summer camp, and sports coverage for my college’s soccer and basketball teams. Alongside client work, I continue to pursue location-based and wildlife photography to balance professional and personal projects.
Today, my work reflects steady progression, adaptability, and a commitment to continual improvement both behind the camera and in post-production.
MY STORY - Furniture Design
At seven years old, I discovered my passion for woodworking when my dad handed me a handsaw and a pallet of wood, sparking a journey of creativity and self-expression. Despite struggling in academics all my life due to learning differences, woodworking became my refuge and a source of confidence. During the Covid-19 lockdown, I honed my skills through YouTube tutorials, eventually excelling in woodshop when I returned to school. In 2024, I turned my passion into a business, creating and selling handmade products. My first sales event was a success, leading to partnerships with local retailers and proving that, at just 19 years old, I could achieve what many only dream of, building a successful small business from the ground up. At the start of 2025 I applied to Rochester Institute of Technology and was accepted into the College of Art and Design to gain a degree in Furniture Design.
